The Yale Laparoscopy Skills and Suturing Program was created to compare objectively evaluated capabilities of senior surgeons and of residents after they have completed the same standardized training regimen.

A database has been generated from a study of this program which is applicable to a multilevel spectrum of participants.  As a result, comparison of skill levels of residents against the percentile graphs derived from the performance of trained surgeons is possible.

Participants who finish this standardized curriculum can compare their performance with that of trained surgeons, giving them an initiative to practice and improve.
